We build place-based experiences.
Breakout designs and runs experiences for the people investing in cities: economic development leaders, funders, founders, tech & innovation, organizers, and the civic builders who make a neighborhood work.
Usually that means taking people into the neighborhoods themselves. Even when we're producing a more standard event, the city shows up in who we hire, where we book, who else gets to be in the room, and where the budget lands.
We do this two ways: our own gatherings, which people apply to attend, and custom programming for firms, foundations, economic development organizations, and cities.
What We Do
-

Our Own Experiences
SEE. City-specific gatherings that bring one city's leaders together across the lines that normally keep them apart. Launched in New York in 2025. Expanding now.
Breakout Builders. National convenings built around one issue at a time. Innovation for the Public Good in Pittsburgh this September. The Future of Cities in Atlanta this November.
Flagships. Our multi-day immersives, in Detroit, Tulsa, Nashville, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Miami.

What We Build For Others
City activations. Economic development organizations and city agencies bring us in to show their place to the people who need to see it: investors, funders, site selectors, national partners.
Client and team programming. Firms and foundations use us to connect their people and their clients to the communities they work in. Convenings, immersions, offsites that actually leave the hotel.
Custom experiences. Scavenger hunts, dinners, tours, pop-ups. If it puts your people in a real place with the people who live and work there, we've built a version of it.
20+ cities since 2014
2,000+ leaders across 50+ cities
$25 million in economic impact
Most of our production budget goes to chefs, creatives, small businesses, and independent venues in the host city
