Michael’s passion for learning & growth started his journey in building Breakout. The privilege to play a role in supporting others in scaling their impact and dreams is what sustains it. And lots of new eats along the way.
What can’t you live without? Hot bread with butter, airpods and HBO.
What’s your favorite music genre? House music, I can listen to it on repeat for hours. It brings back memories of the summers I spent in Spain with my mother’s family.
What keeps you committed to doing this work within the community? The life-long friendships I’ve built mean the world to me. I know that even when I don’t see our people for a while, we can jump right back into where we left off because of our alignment in how we see and walk through life.

What can’t you live without? Carbs, storytelling and travel!
What’s your favorite music genre? Depends on my mood and the time of day but 90s throwbacks hit me. I work to hip hop/lofi beats and hype up w/ with the likes of Bomba Estereo.
What keeps you committed to doing this work within the community? Community and mutual aid mean everything to me. I’ve been impacted so much by the generosity of others to share their stories, their gifts and their warmth with me. Spreading that light and advocating for our collective power is the ultimate privilege.
