[9:00 AM - 11:00 AM] Food Sovereignty & Storytelling w/ Chef Nico and Burning Cedar Wellness

Join us at Big Chief Farm (private residence) for a morning of storytelling, foraging and native food with founder Chef Nico of Burning Cedar Wellness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing the knowledge of healthy traditional foodways and Indigenous wellness practices to families living in the urban Tulsa community.

Various groups will be touring experiences in multiple parts of Tulsa.

Experience 1: Site visit with the extraordinary team of Oasis Fresh Market, opening up in a food desert as the first grocery store in North Tulsa in fourteen years.

Experience 2: Site visit to Nia’s Place, non-profit and future transition home for formerly incarcerated women, founded by local organizer/activist, D’Marria Monday.

Experience 3: Site visit and conversation on future visions at the largest redevelopment site in Greenwood, Evans-Fintube, w/ Franchell Abdalla + team.

The Legacy of Black Wall Street

[2:30 PM - 4:00 PM] Greenwood Rising

We’ll head to the historic Greenwood District and join The Real Black Wallstreet Tour with founder and guide, Chief Egunwale Amusan.

“My name is Chief Egunwale Amusan. I am the grandson of Raymond Beard Sr., and the grandnephew of Matthew and Mary Beard, all of whom were survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. I started The Real Black Wall Street Tour in 2019 because I felt it was my duty to share the TRUE story of what happened to the Greenwood community. It will be my honor to share this incredible history with you.“

Location: Tour will begin at the Black Wallstreet Mural across from the Greenwood Cultural Center.

We have a night to remember planned inside the walls of Art Deco inspired speakeasy, Boston Title and Abstract. The culinary mastermind behind the concept, Chef Greg Donnini, marries classic rural French cuisine with a Tulsa twist.

Performances through out the night will be led by producer and storyteller, Jerica D. Wortham (J‘Parle), in collaboration with local performers.

[9:00 AM - 11:00 AM] Entrepreneurship & Innovation: Ecosystem Game Show + Breakout Sessions

Morning Kick off with coffee and light bites at Holberton School, showcasing the thriving Entrepreneurship & Innovation Ecosystem from DT to East Tulsa.

We’ll be opening up w/ speakers Ashli Simms (Build in Tulsa) and Michael Basch (Atento Capital) and hearing from local founders and organizations leading the charge through gamified programming brought to you by host and founder of ASLUT, Ferrel Dixon Jr..

[11:00 AM - 1:00 PM] Grounding & Small Groups

Marlon Hall will be leading us through a grounding activation at Chùa Di Lặc Buddhist Temple grounds. As a Tulsa-based movement leader and artist, his work is rooted in social practice and grown from anthropological listening.

We’ll then be breaking out into small groups for Breakout sessions.

Exploring The Global District

[1:30 PM - 3:30 PM] A Taste of East Tulsa

Lunch at Plaza Santa Cecilia, where we will explore everything from Hmong and Vietnamese to Mexican cuisine.

After lunch, hear from neighborhood community organizations and experience the local dance scene with Latin dance troupes.

A Night for the Books

[6:00 PM] Meet in the lobby to depart for dinner at 6:30 PM sharp! We will be breaking into groups to 4 destinations.

Get ready for eccentric, unique and intimate spaces. Dinner will be hosted by some of our favorite Tulsa leaders in their homes and spaces for a special, intimate dining experience.

[10:00 PM - Close] ART HOUSE SHOW X

Curatorial collective, ART HOUSE, brings their guerrilla style community art shows and gatherings to our closing night.

We’ll be sure to remember this night filled with art, music, and fashion.

Sunday (9.18)

A Proper Send Off

[10:00 AM - 12:00 PM] TAF & Studio 101 Takeover/ Sharpside Sunday Water Drive (Open to Public 9 AM- 7 PM)

It’s always tough to say goodbye but we’ll have an intentional closing moment, along with our final small group sessions to ground on all that happened this weekend at a TAF space.

From there we’ll head to TAF’s Studio 101 to have a final hoorah with a skate-themed party with local cultural producers, Sharpside of Sharpside Barbershop.
