Breakout Builders brings together founders, funders, educators, and technologists building a better future. Our community spans startups, investors, philanthropy and foundations, venture capitalists, AI integrators, corporations, universities, medical institutions, and local and state government. Every participant is selected for their ability to build, fund, or lead at the intersection of technology, community, and innovation for the public good.

Breakout Builders Pittsburgh is an interactive experience across the city. At times, it's a group experience for all attendees; other times it's "choose your own adventure" in smaller group settings. Our home base will be the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel.

Before kickoff, each attendee will be assigned to a small group that includes one "captain" (think facilitator) and added to group chats to guide you through our daily schedule — intimate sessions, larger community activities, and plenty of moments for fun.

Programming blends ideation sessions, city-based exploration, storytelling, and skills-based workshops — all designed to accelerate real projects and foster lasting connections. Expect dinners and experiences, roundtables, strategy sprints and talks, site visits and experiential learning, and dedicated networking for builders and funders.

Since 2014, Breakout has hosted events for national changemakers in over 15 cities, including Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Miami, New York City, and Atlanta. Breakout pioneered an approach focused on experiential learning in cities in the purpose-driven sector.

Tickets start at $1,650 for visiting attendees. This includes hotel accommodations at the Renaissance, wellness activities, entertainment, food and drinks, and transportation to experiences. As this is a cross-sector experience, we recognize applicants have a range of budgets. Our tickets are on a sliding scale, and we will do our best to accommodate the budget needs of accepted applicants.

This gathering is as much about the builders who attend as it is about the programming itself, so we're looking to learn about you, the impact you're driving, and what you can add to the group. Space is limited to approximately 90 national leaders and 30 local catalysts.
