Project Building Hope

Two young women from immigrant families forge a friendship and initiate a project bridging hope from Chicago to East Africa. They find themselves confronting their own personal traumas, identities and an unexpected revelation that challenges their resilience.


Mississippi Turning

When your state contains an emblem that has long been used as a symbol of hate and white supremacy, how do you engage with those who consider it a part of their heritage?

Mississippi Turning, produced by Moral Courage and Breakout Films, tells the story of author and activist Genesis Be’s powerful efforts to remove the symbol of hate embedded in her home state’s flag.


Leon

"You must give up to go up." This is the challenge put forth today by Pittsburgh activist, author, and father Leon Ford. Leon's awakening started at the tender age of 19 by a traffic stop that would forever change his life. This moment forced his entire young adult life to be a fight to be loved, recognized, appreciated, and free. Now in a season of growth and with a new beacon from his spirit for the pathway ahead, he's ready to fly. This is his story.

Stone of Hope

Jim St. Germain was born in Haiti and grew up in the once violent streets of Crown Heights—his life trajectory not always certain. He is now an author, nonprofit leader and fierce advocate for criminal justice reform. He’s served on the Obama juvenile justice task force and worked with initiatives such as, My Brother’s Keeper.


Stingrays

Stingrays is the true story behind the birth of the Newark Swim Team. With odds against them, one man helped build a community staple that positively affected the lives of youth from multiple generations. The Newark Swim Team generated Olympic gold medalists and was the first team of color to win a state championship. Stingrays is a human story of goodwill, resilience, loyalty, and triumph. This inspirational short film infuses documentary, archival, and narrative storytelling.
